1. Club Assistant Course

This course introduces the concepts involved in teaching jiu jitsu.  It takes students through the initial thought processes involved in teaching and provides an awareness of the how they should conduct themselves. It is a prerequisite to the assistant instructor qualification.

This course is designed to introduce and develop the skills required to support the delivery of teaching jiu jitsu activities when training with less experienced students with in a class taught be a qualified instructor. This course, therefore, is also designed to provide suitable support and progression for you if you intend to develop within this area at higher levels.

Successful achievement of this award is part of the eligibility criteria to grade to 4th Kyu and also a prerequisite for the Jiu Jitsu Foundation Assistant Instructor and Club Instructor awards.

The online element of the award is assessed by multiple choice questions at the end of each module.  Students complete the course by using the audio player, or reading each unit and need to achieve at least 60% in each MCQ assessment to progress to the next module.  The online course is followed up by on the mat practice where the theory learnt here is put into effect. Sign off of the club assistant award is issued by your club instructor.

2. Assistant Instructor Course

This course introduces the responsibilities and teaching standards the jiu jitsu foundation requires of it’s instructors.  It builds on the concepts that students were introduced to in the club assistant course and explains the key elements of teaching jiu jitsu along with the framework which all within the jiu jitsu foundation operate. The club assistant award is a prerequisite and this qualification.

This course is designed to introduce and develop the skills required to support the delivery of teaching jiu jitsu activities as an assistant instructor in a class taught be a qualified instructor. This course, therefore, is also designed to provide suitable support and progression for you if you intend to develop within this area at higher levels.

Successful achievement of this award is part of the eligibility criteria to grade to 3rd Kyu and also a prerequisite for the Jiu Jitsu Foundation Club Instructor course.

The online course involves between 3 and 4 guided learning hours.  The online course is followed up by on the mat practice where the theory learnt here is put into effect and when the student is ready a teaching assessment.

3. Club Instructor Course

This course introduces the responsibilities and teaching standards the jiu jitsu foundation requires of it’s instructors.  It builds on the concepts that students were introduced to in the club assistant and assistant instructor courses, expands on the key elements of teaching jiu jitsu and offers insight into how to inspire and teach a club effectively within the jiu jitsu foundation. The club assistant and assistant instructor awards are prerequisite and this course.

This course is designed to introduce and develop the skills required to the delivery of teaching jiu jitsu activities as a club instructor, developing students, club assistants and assistant instructors. This qualification, therefore, is also designed to provide suitable support and progression for you if you intend to develop within this area at higher levels.
